Drastic times call for drastic measures. World dispatch: The only outcome is that either George Bush or Ariel Sharon will be humiliated, writes Brian Whitaker. [Guardian Unlimited]
The British newspaper ‘The Guardian’ is, for the most part, a very liberal publication. Still, this is exactly the fears that I have about Bush’s long delayed Middle East involvement. Frankly, I’m afraid the guy’s gonna embarrass us.
Cheers,
Dusty

The best way to kill MS Messenger. Check out this little script [The Register]
Here’s a cool little script from the shredding edge UK tech journal ‘The Register’ that kills the annoying MS Messenger nags in XP. Haven’t tried it yet. Send me your reports.
Cheers,
Dusty

Balky Players Are Defying the Bush Game Plan. President Bush seemed testy over the weekend when asked why all three players in the Middle East had so far defied his demands. By David E. Sanger. [New York Times: Politics]
Strength is what is called for. It’s the proper response, but I’m not sure Bush has it in him. He obviously has the will and the desire, but he still seems to lack that elusive gravitas.
Cheers,
Dusty

Israeli Offensive in West Bank Goes On. Israeli helicopter gunships pounded a Palestinian refugee camp and fire broke out near Bethlehem's Church of the Nativity during a firefight Monday, as Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said Israel's 11-day-old offensive in the West Bank would continue despite U.S. demands for an immediate withdrawal. [AP World News]
What a cluster fuck. Powell is on his way, probably on the ground, by now. He’s been furiously farting sunshine the last few days while the boss’s calls for an immediate pullout have been completely ignored. What the fuck is the guy supposed to do next?
Cheers,
Dusty

Israel Persisting With Wide Sweep Despite Bush's Call. The Israeli government and army indicated Sunday that they intended to carry on with the broad military sweep through the West Bank. By Serge Schmemann. [New York Times: NYT HomePage]
I think Bush is 100% right in his repeated calls for an immediate Israeli pullout. Thing is, after 15 months on the sideline, nobody is paying any attention to him. Maybe the EU/EC is right. Maybe it’s time for Bush to step aside and let someone else try.
Cheers,
Dusty
