Nani taught us how to pick raspberries. How to find the hidden ones. She taught us how to eat them. How to relish them slowly. And she used to make red raspberry jam that would get us thru the winter.
VJ has taken the jam mantle from her, leading expeditions to Sandy Bottom when we're all gathered together and going by herself after the crowds have gone. This year, VJ taught me how.
Oh Nani, did you hear it? I can make red raspberry jam!
