Members of Hamas 'on UN payroll'
National Post, Canada - The United Nations agency that provides assistance and food aid to Palestinian refugees admits it has hired members of the terrorist group Hamas to help in its efforts.

Peter Hansen, commissioner-general of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for palestinian refugees (UNRWA), told the CBC he believes it likely that Hamas members receive paycheques from his organization.

Canada contributes roughly $10-million annually to UNRWA.

The federal government designated Hamas as a terrorist group in 2002, and several North American charities linked to the group have since been outlawed.

I guess the only charity group (associated with Hamas) NOT outlawed would be the "United Nations Relief and Works Agency for palestinian refugees".

Yes, Saddam had ties to terrorists, and WMD.  Of course he did.

Bloggers Catch Kerry Cheating  - Hundred Percenter
Once again the internet has done the job that the old networks, CBS, ABC, and NBC used to do. INDC Journal and Daily Recycler, first broke the story of John Kerry pulling out notes or a "cheat sheet" in his debate versus George Bush, last Thursday. See video here.

The rules of the debate were as follows:

No props, notes, charts, diagrams, or other writings or other tangible things may be brought into the debate by either candidate....

...The candidates may take notes during the debate on the size, color and type of paper each side prefers. Each candidate must submit to the staff of the Commission prior to the debate all such paper and any pens or pencils with which a candidate may wish to take notes during the debate, and the staff or commission will place such paper, pens and pencils on the podium, table or other structure to be used by the candidate in that debate.

These new charges are sure to cast a devastating blow to the 'Frankenstonian' Kerry campaign.

What was considered to be good debate for John Kerry, is now going to be discounted because of Kerry's trickery. Moreover, Kerry's reputation as someone who is trying to get elected by any means necessary will most likely be reaffirmed with this shocking revelation.

UPDATE: According to the New York Post, John Kerry pulled a black pen out of his coat.  However, even that would have been a violation of the rules he agreed to.  I suppose he changed his mind about that rule.

More Internet Ads in Presidential Race
ABC News - While there has been more Internet advertising activity in this year's presidential race than in the past, the money spent on Web ads still pales in comparison to that allocated for TV commercials, the first-ever study of online political ads found.

The study, released Monday by the Pew Internet & American Life Project, said President Bush, Democrat John Kerry, their political parties and allied independent groups spent $2.6 million to post banner ads on Web sites from January through August.
