Robert Krulwich will be at UT on Monday to talk about his unique approach to science journalism, an approach that includes visually demonstrating how big a trillion is, or taking a small yellow shovel (and a cartoonist) to explore the idea of digging your way to China (an ABC News item that has been on YouTube for several months).

If you can't make his presentation on Monday, here are some examples of his work for ABC and NPR.

Speaking of video, audio and innovation, Mindy McAdams has a nice summary of some Ira Glass videos about finding and telling stories with audio or video...

And in class today we were looking at some of the things the Roanoke Times is doing with its TimesCast videoblog online --- the same "newspaper" that used the Web for its ad for a new editor.

I like the Naples News Studio55 too, although it's not so self-consciously "youth-oriented" and "videoblog" in tone. (Compare http://rocketboom.com and the KnoxNews RandomThis collection.)

I've been talking about the award-winning video at WashingtonPost.com a lot. Here's an interview with the boss. And here's an Apple.com Quicktime video about the Post's multimedia efforts.
