Napping - the outcast tradition. The tradition of napping, or Siesta as it's also called, has a long, quiet, and peaceful history. Taking a good afternoon nap is still quite popular in Spain, Italy, and other countries of southern Europe, and also in Mexico and other Latin America countries. Recently however, it's been reported that the tradition of napping is dying out in some of these places, due to the pressures and demands of the new economy. In this article, I will show conclusively that this stifling and suppression of the human need for 40 winks is both wrong headed, and bad for the economy. This trend must be addressed as a serious and threatening assualt on the peace of mind, liberty, and general well being of those who still have the courage and wisdom to practice this excellent tradition. The Twisted Network Framework is an event driven networking framework for Python. I heard about it through the 0xDECAFBAD blog. I'm getting more interested in Python, so I might find this code useful.

This is from Scott Knitter via the Oblate Forum wrote:

The Community of Jesus has a wonderful Web site at http://www.cofj.net - they are well known for their music ministries: Gloriae Dei Cantores, a choir and chant schola; an orchestra; even a marching band, the Spirit of America! They've just built an impressive new church, and they chant the Opus Dei five times a day, I believe, in Latin, using as many Libers and Antiphonales as they can gather. They offer a music workshop in summer led by a top choral director, such as George Guest of St. John's College, Cambridge, UK.

Some of the members are professed and remain celibate; another category of members is married people, many with children, who live in homes on the property or nearby. The community was started by two Presbyterian women, I believe.

They also run Paraclete Press, publisher and distributor of many books and (of most interest to me), chant books from Solesmes and Saint Meinrad Benedictine monasteries.
