Pope Speaks Out Against Abuse but Leaves Room for 'Conversion'. Pope John Paul II today sent conflicting signals on a proposed one-strike-and-you're-out policy for priests who abuse minors. By Melinda Henneberger. [New York Times: NYT HomePage]
This seems to be a good, balanced report. It mentions the homosexuality problem, and gives some insight on the opposition of zero tolerance with a desire for the conversion and reform of the offender. Several sources are quoted, giving a lot of viewpoints.
