I don't know how many of you saw the TabletPC - Groove demo at Comdex a while back (was it last fall?). That was a demo we put together with help from Microsoft in a couple of weeks to add ink to the Groove sketchpad tool. The TabletPC is really quite amazing. The vision we had was the ultimate shared whiteboard - I can't draw anything that looks like anything with the mouse. The demo script presented by MS (Jeff Raikes??) went sometihng like this: (and mind you I had just spent 3 all-nighters pulling it together)
"Groove is collaborative application for sharing information..blah blah blah and it uses the TabletPC to share ink data.. blah blah and Groove also integrates with MS Office. [switch to Office - rest of demo is in Office showing Office Ink support!]"
So that was my 5 seconds of fame!
Meanwhile, we continue to work with Microsoft on many fronts and TabletPC is definitely a very cool one. Personally I just like to play with the new toys.

Sam Gentile asks: "How do we get people to collaborate?".
Tools like Groove and Radio represent a paradigm shift. They create interpersonal connections and share information in rich and meaningful ways. After my first few weeks at Groove I was convinced that it would be all that people would do with their computer. Many users now say that Groove is always running.. it's becoming part of their primary use of their PC. But it will take a long time for the masses to discover, because its not enough to just get the software and look at the screen shots. You have to start experiencing it with other people in a meaningful context and making those connections before you start having those "Bing!" moments go off in your own head.
