Chris Sells offers advice on how to save your career. This is a practice that I'm sure folks I work with wish I would follow. How many times has this happened to me? I finish a nice little rant, guaranteed to start a revolution and save the world, and right when I hit 'send' I think.. oh crap.. I think I just got myself fired.
Now, there have been plently of times I wish I could do that with my blog too. We all know I can... I can go back and edit or delete ridiculous and mundane posts. But I decided when taking up this practice (why did I do that again??) that this was dishonest. The only time I'll fix an entry is to correct a typo or a broken url. After trying to back my way out of a particularly angry tirade on my NEBC email list, my friend Bob Evans had this advice:
How seriously is too seriously?
Surely we must believe there's a kernel of seriousness buried somewhere in your transmissions, otherwise, what's to inflame emotions and incite the membership to abandon subfreezing road rides in favor of responding? Please, don't call a halt to this round of entertainment by implying it's all tongue in cheek! Keep up the diatribes and keep us believing you're in earnest!
Cool! It exposes SOAP endpoints. Sweet Jesus! This is one of the coolest collaboration applications I've ever seen. It's time to start the revolution at my company.
I hope we works for a really big company with thousands of employees :)
