What is really going on beneath the surface? What is the nature of the bifurcation that is unfolding? That's what interests me.

Nice spin to the music issue - Music is at the core of who we are and nothing will be able to stand in the way of a better way to hear it. Is this why music and p2p technology is at the front line of the war between the middle men and the direct link between the artists and the listenener?

The Rule of Unintended Consequences. I am reading Wired and Slashdot, and there is currently a heavy load of FUD about music companies via the RIAA suing P2P users and Kazaa. I suddenly feel the need to rant. Perhaps it's guilt for stealing from Bertelsmann. Not really. It's about the rule of unintended consequences. [kuro5hin.org]

I find the Wikipedia project fascinating - ( A do it yourself encyclopedia) it is possible for a work of great scale and complexity to be put together by contributors who do not know each other. What does this mean for other collaborative efforts?
