Seems like people are questioning more and more wether the OO model is the right choice for distributed systems.
This reminds me Rickard Öberg once saying: "The first rule of distributed objects is ... drumroll ... don't use distributed objects". Basically meaning the developer should all the time be very well aware wether a method call is a remote or a local one and just exposing very coarse grained components over the network.
