I really recommend the book "Agile Software Development" from Alistair Cockburn - it's really great to read and it's the first book since the middle of the 80s about software development I really enjoy. I have only read the first 50 pages, but for example the comparision between software development and epic poetry writing is absolutly excellent.
And yesterday I read about the Not-Invented-Here (NIH) syndrome - which I feel is absolutely true for most software development (at least here in Germany). Why can't all companies start a NIHBIDIA award like Texas Instruments did? (NIHBIDIA=Not Invented here but I did it anyway) - Great idea, so think about it!

This is one of those very good days. When I turned on the radio, the first song played was "Why does it always rain on me?" from Travis. Now, looking out of the window for the last days, you can't hear this song often enough :( -
