There is a very interesting article about the recent thread in the KDE developer list about Open Source developers versus users. A very often heard argument from an OS developer is: "I don't get paid, so a user can't expect anything. And I only do what I want to do."
The remaining question is: "Is this statement right? Is it wrong?" - Now everyone (being an OS developer or not) can see the obvious danger in such a statement. Regardless if it's right or wrong, it will definitly not help the OS project. If noone uses your project, it will not make fun and you loose interest.
So, well, one solution is crystal clear: OS developers have to be paid ;) - if you agree, just contact me to get my bank account number...
