History is really repeating - in open source projects far more often than anywhere else. Read here the answer of some help seeking person to the reference of the "idiots" page. It can't take long until Jon or someone else shows up and starts his flame mails...and this might lead to another long thread which has been discussed hundred times in the past. But it's always amusing to see such things evolving. So here is the response: "I love how people spend more time getting bent out of shape because there is a wrong posting on an email list by a newbie and spend more effort refering them to the 'idiot' page than if they were to just help them out and politely remind them to next time redirect their questions to the proper list. Can't we all just get along??? Vish, not everybody is a pompous, arrogant, self-serving angry little programmer.some of us do like to help. even if you do post to the wrong list. It might happen, that you get a reference to this site, if you ask for help in some mailing-lists, especially apache jakarta lists. It seems that Jon waits the whole day for off topic questions only to answer them with that reference... ;) - There is always something new you can learn in open source projects...thanks! 1:32:08 PM
