Witness misleads police in sniper shooting.  The editor of Generic / Synthetic says what we're thinking here in Maryland. (The false witness should go to Jail.)

Here's a little quiz.
Let's say you're inside, oh, Home Depot, and suddenly you hear a gunshot from outside. A bunch of people run screaming into the store and tell you someone has been shot by The Sniper(tm). Do you:
A) Decide that now would be a good time to leave, so that the police and rescue people can do their work? Or do you:
B) Stick around and invent a completely fictional story from the muck of your imagination? Because hey, what'll it hurt?
If you said B, you are hereby banned from society. Go away, we don't want you here any more. [Generic / Synthetic]
Free wallpaper is yours today ... To say thank you to everyone at Radioland for their support. You guys are great... (don't link to it... download it -- only 50k or so in jpg format). To the people who've helped me with Radioland, I can send you a higher grade wallpaper, any size you want, any format (within reason).

Grab it here. If you like it, why not donate to Pets on Wheels, Montgomery County, Maryland (our dog works for them as a therapy dog; he works for nothing; he thinks it's play and he loves his friends at Pets on Wheels, especially the clients. People in Montgomery County, Maryland, need support, especially our older friends in assisted living centers and day care. Budgets are getting slashed and with the sniper shootings, all budgets are really going to suffer.... ( but you can help)

This is what I spent my time doing today... sometimes painting is more fun than writing...
Dog predicts epileptic owner's seizures PA 'Mercedes is one of the rare dogs that can smell a seizure coming on. Only about one third of one percent of seizure alert-trained dogs can do that rather than just help the victim after the attack.'  Mercedes has learned to nudge her owner's left knee, a signal that an epileptic seizure is about to happen. Mercedes' owner, Joseph Gottwald, then takes medicine to prevent the attack. Already trained as a search-and-rescue and therapy dog, Mercedes, a Leonberger,  underwent additional training to become a medical service dog. 'Researchers suspect the ability to detect the onset of a seizure stems from a close bond between an animal and its owner. They think it has to do with the closeness of the dog to the seizure patient.' ...  Unusual dog senses trouble  [Carlisle Sentinel] Related: Leonberger Dogs
Rare dog shot by hunter, setback for researchers Peru Possibly the rarest dog on earth, the short haired dog of Peru, has been under study by Duke University's Center for Tropical Conservation. It took three years of diligent work to capture a dog; it was fitted with a radio VHF transmitting collar and then released back to the Peruvian Amazon. The study suffered a huge setback when the dog under study was shot by a hunter just two weeks later. 'The whole situation seemed like a horrible nightmare. It still seems that way now...' Search for Rare Dog Meets Success and Sudden Reversal [National Geographic]
