cranking out many reviews each day, with custom graphics and indepth reviews. Dog News is so honored. Here's the review...
"Attention dog lovers! This blog is a must read! As the title suggests – Dog News galore; stories that are hilarious, touching, bizarre. You name it, if it is relating to dogs – this blog has it. This is an inexhaustible resource for information.
Apologies to everyone: Dog News publishing is delayed, due to installation of a software program that has royally stopped everything... Norton Internet Security 2003 replaced our 2002 and I don't have it properly configured yet... can't read email, can't publish... (well, maybe now we can, sort of... ) Tomorrow may be better... I might just uninstall Norton Internet Security 2003 and reinstall the older Norton Internet Security 2002... ) Gee, I've only uninstalled and reinstalled NIS three times in the last three days... and no writing to show for it, either)The layout is clean, funky, and on the fun side, with an interesting dog background rendered in chalk; though the highlights on the links and the background of the columns makes it seem like the user has accidentally highlighted it with his/her mouse. The archives have a different layout, more professional looking, but I would prefer the current one, as it corresponds more with the blog topic. (from Dog News: What I want to say is that the layout would be more professional if I hadn't tinkered with it [Joe Jenett created a beautiful and gorgeous layout. Then I 'played' with it, ruined most of his work and now it's definitely funky; well, it will improve ... but that takes time. The archive pages are from a Bryan Bell design (Transmitter: a very regal theme free from Radioland) and really beautiful and professionally done (until I tinkered with that... heh heh).]
The blog is rich in articles, allowing insight into the “dog world”… Even going back through the archives, there is a number of entries that are still useful and interesting, such as Do dogs create art…, How to install a pet door, The legend of black dog, or Aromatherapy for your dog. There are also a good deal of tips, such as what safety measures to take when your dog is out in hot weather, Curbing dog aggression, Pet safety in the event of fire, etc.
What makes this blog different from any other dog related site is that you have all the information linked in one place -- the wealth of knowledge and references is great. A dog lover could get lost here spending hours upon hours reading and enjoying what it has to offer. On top of that, there is also a wonderful section dedicated to “Animal News”, so even if you do not own a dog, you can get the current news on animals.
If you are looking for stories that have elements of mystery, heartfelt emotions, out of the ordinary happenstance, hilarity, or just looking for a good read… this is definitely the place to go – especially if you have a dog companion... " [Bloggy Review by ? Silhouette]
