This is an amazing comparison of two related chromosomes: one from the chimp and one from the chump. Thre predicted difference of only a fraction of the base pairs seems to underestimate the real difference between the genomes. Most of those altered base pairs seem to occur in coding regions. It would be interesting to couple this with an epigenetic analysis of the same chromosomes to see if this amplifies the differences even further.Chimp chromosome creates puzzles. First sequence is unexpectedly different from human equivalent. [Nature Science Update]

Quite a novel way to simplify a very complex process without losing significant information.Virtual screening: Gliding to success. Two papers describe a new docking methodology - named Glide - that can outperform methods that are generally viewed as representing the current state-of-the-art in docking, such as GOLD and FlexX.
