It can't be long now before someone starts printing T-shirts. Were I a shrewd business fella, I'd set up an online store myself and make a buck or two, I guess.
Theology ought not be done by T-shirts and bumper stickers, but this is America. We'd rather feel than think, share than study -- cheer and jeer and sloganeer.
Campaign theology ala the New York City Council. Broadcast theology ala PBS's Frontline.
Amid such a flurry of media spin, I was grateful to see the LCMS Board of Directors attempt once again to bring just an ounce of dignity and decorum back to the Church. We've agreed with one another in this church body to deal with one another on the basis of God's Word, the Lutheran Confessions and the Constitution.
Well, perhaps some haven't agreed. Benke doesn't seem to agree at all.
Such a simple problem, according to the spin doctors. Isn't it OK to Pray? Aren't the critics and opponents of Benke saying it's not OK to pray? Christians are supposed to pray, right? All those in favor of prayer, jump on the bandwagon.
What, ain't you in favor of prayer?
WWJD, preacherman, WWJD?!?!
I dunno. Would it offend you so terribly if I just shut myself in a closet for a while?
