Today's Washington Post featured an op-ed from Bono which we've copied
for you below. In it he writes about how inspiring all of you were on
his travels across the USA, and how on the Heart of America Tour he has heard "the rumblings of a movement".
The next week is extremely important. We are waiting to see if the
President deems the AIDS crisis important enough to include it in his State of the Union address tomorrow night. We will then learn of his plans for addressing the crisis in the next fiscal year when the 2004 budget numbers are released on February 4th. We remain hopeful that the Administration will heed our calls for at least $2.5-3 billion dollars to kickstart the effort against Global AIDS and hope that you all will tune in as well.
