Congress on the Corner, Harry Mitchell
Dear Friend,
When you said Washington was a mess, you weren't kidding. I've gotten right to work responding to your call to change the way Congress conducts business, and quite a bit has been accomplished.
In the First 100 hours alone, I co-sponsored - and the House passed - legislation to clean up the corruption in Congress, restore fiscal responsibility, repeal tax cuts for Big Oil, invest in life-saving stem cell research, and reduce health care and education costs for Arizona families.
As a former teacher, I always taught the ideal that government should be open and responsive to the people. That's why I've started a Congress on the Corner program - to sit down, one-on-one, and hear what's on your mind.
Keeping these office hours in grocery stores and local businesses around the district will keep me connected to you and all of our neighbors at home.
Even though home seems so far away at times, I'm here to do a job, to improve the lives of Arizonans like you, and am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve.
Sincerely,
Congressman Harry E. Mitchell
