Bill R.: This is a great, great article about that new necessity of life - earphones. I ride the bus and metro to work one or two days a week and like to listen to either music (MP3 player) or news (NPR on FM). And I like to listen on the plane. Once you get past the right device to use, the next step is invariably replacing the lousy earbud style earphones that just don't stay in my ears. Here is a great list of alternatives to choose from.
