Thomas Edison Coming Out of my iPod

Bill R.: Being a bit of a history buff, I found listening to items in this collection pretty amazing. And while most are music, the site contains this gem, the first public recording of Thomas Edison. I can't help but get goose bumps listening to THE ORIGINAL audio pioneer recorded in 1919, on an iPod in 2005. How very far we've come in only 86 years.

Does this settle the arguments over who the first podcaster was? Anyone beat 1919?

Hundreds of 1900s-1930s MP3s. Cory Doctorow: Here are MP3s made from hundreds of 78RPM discs recorded between 1900 and 1930. Included are notes on the transfer process and discographic information.
