Started the Java Community Server

It's an implementation of the Radio Community Server in Java of course. It consists of an XML-RPC backend, HSQL for the DB, and Pnuts to script all the XML-RPC stuff.

My main focus is get the xmlStorageServer stuff working first, which is the bulk of the community server anyway.

So far I've got the basic stuff in place to allow all the XML-RPC stuff to be scripted via Pnuts.

This is fun....weeeeee

My carbon-based database

Why is it I can remember the phone number I had when I was a teenager ( 20 years ago ) but for the life of me can't remember my current work phone number?

My daughter (8) on the other hand, can recount in precise detail just about any random event you can name (usually it's stuff you promised her). However, I can barely tell you what I had for lunch last Thursday.

Do I need to compact or maybe upgrade my DB?

I want a Java based, small, fast, mutiple readers/writers, open-source, embeddable, lives in one file, Object database - something like the Odb in Frontier!

Axion embedded DB

Just downloaded this last night.

Axion is: "...a lightweight, scalable, modular and complete relational database system in Java, including full SQL and JDBC compliance, in-process and client/server operation and fully in-memory or persistent data."

Looks interesting and it has some some smart folks working on it.
