The proof is in the pudding....
Study: Spell-Check Can Make Writing Worse
How might you drag a good writer's work down to the level of a lesser scribe? Try the spell-check button.

A study at the University of Pittsburgh indicates spell-check software may level the playing field between people with differing levels of language skills, hampering the work of writers and editors who place too much trust in the software.[Yahoo! News]

I find this interesting because I've seen proof that this is true. What's more, people place trust in a program that allows you to ADD misspellings and improper grammar to its database. If you don't believe me try adding your name to the Microsoft Word Dictionary. I bet you can.

Scanning for signs of intelligence: none....
So once again I'm trying to get Stapler to work. I figured out the feeds (damn! directions are good for something) but it still seems to be jacked up. Hmmm? Anyone out there wanna give me a hand?

In addendum: (a little later)Got it to actually put a feed together. Now if I can just get it to seperate the stories.

Self generation....
This is my second attempt at getting Stapler working to scrape my own feeds of interesting sites. So far I've only been able to get it to give me a link to the site, and my own RSS. But, I think I've got it working. I'll check it out later tonight. If I do get it working I'll make the RSS feeds available to any who want them.

SF has bad effect on us geeks....
When Chris won a Bloggie he had vowed to die his hair. Well boys and girls, ladies and gentlemen, the time has come and Chris has done the deed. Video included.

Mr. American Pie. The deed has been done, and I've got the pictures (and video) to prove it. Yep. The salon was all out of hot pink, so I decided to go with a more patriotic theme. My skin is white, so I went with blue sides (and bottom) and red tips. You can't tell it's blue in the Webcam right now, but... trust me. I was completely blonde a few hours ago. Briefly. We'll see how long the producers allow me to have this 'do. If you like what you see, leave a "thumbs up" after the beep. You might also blast a message to callforhelp (at) techtv.com. They're more inclined to listen to viewers than they are me. Hooray for the red, albino white, and blue. UPDATE: Check out the video (actively seeking mirrors).... [C:PIRILLO.EXE]
