UThink brings blogging within the reach of all faculty, students, and staff at the University of Minnesota - http://blog.lib.umn.edu/ - check it out! It is "is intended to support teaching and learning, scholarly communication, and individual expression for the U of M community."  I think though that the advice from Mano Singham, about The Classroom Discussion Problem,  holds true for blogs too.  Singham found that more students are listeners rather than talkers (although discussing this up front encouraged more discussion in class).  This is certainly true of online comunication as well - there are often more lurkers than posters on listservs. Anedoctally, take a look at my own weblog too - how much discussion or how many comments are there? Not much.  Still, discussion and dialog are at the heart of scholarship and UThink as an offering of the UM Libraries is an awesome service.  BTW, thanks to Diana Archangelli for sharing the "classroom discussion problem." For a list of scholars who blog (for scholarship dialog and debate and not just service like my weblog is) visit Rhetorica.
