A picture named indianelephants.jpgThe news coming out of India is very interesting to read and watch/see.  The Congress Party has been declared the winner by a stunning margin (the opposition was a coalition led by the BJP party in power).  Sonia Gandhi - leader of the Congress Party may be the new Prime Minister.  About 380 million people voted in these elections - the pictures of elephants carrying electronic voting machines to villages are amazing.  Urban/rural divide, digital divide, inhospitable weather, were all barriers that the world's largest democracy battled as it sought to conduct a peaceful election accessible to as many as possible of the almost 1 billion people who live in India.  Majumdar calls it the The Great Indian Poll Show.
