Last night I began reading Life of Pi (winner of the 2002 Booker Prize).  The hodge podge of humanity with animals and the mixing of all religions (oh, I do hope he brings in the Budha, Mahavira, Zorathashtra) is familiar - not usually found in other novels set in south India.

This summer I was searching the Web for a lighthearted video that I could use in the  required course I teach called Organization of Information.  I discoverd a resource by Julie Morgenstern called Organizing from the Inside Out.  Julie, it appears, is a successfull business woman, a professional organizer who teaches people how to organize.  You can read the "new way of looking at organizing" - an excerpt from her book at BookBrowse, http://www.bookbrowse.com/ (btw I have not read the book). Rather, I have watched her PBS show on DVD with the same title.  Both the show and the book are sub-titled "The Foolproof System for Your Home, Your Office, Your Life"  and there are some excellent parallels and lessons for my course. I hope to explore this with my fall semester class shortly. I wonder what they will think.
