Gates justifies stronger chains for hardware makers. PC companies obeying orders equals partnership, equals better integration [The Register]
...the final confirmation that this process is now in place - Bill Gates is denying it. Actually the denial, which comes in an interview with Associated Press, represents a welcome post-antitrust return to form - Bill is arrogant, implausible, and couldn't give a stuff about non-Microsoft systems.
Bloody Bill Gates, up to his old tricks again. Seems like the antitrust action and settlement has achieved precisely nothing to restrain Microsoft's blatantly monopolistic actions.

"Telegraph" [Daypop Top 40]
Whew! A passionate anti-war, anti-American tirade from noted British author Margaret Drabble. "I hate America!". I think I've seen comment on this on Instapundit, which I will try and link to later.

"Deep Thinking about Weblogs" [Daypop Top 40]
A thoughtful essay about weblogs; history, state of the art, and possible future trends. The author points out that weblogs are typically built using well-established easily-available technologies, but that the use of standard data formats, and the absence of central control, has allowed the rapid evolution of a plethora of easy-to-use but extraordinarily powerful services.
Good reading, and food for thought.
