Actually, I think his data will be very useful. Phil discovered 27 access points in his quick flight over Salt Lake and Utah Counties and only five were encrypted. That's pretty close to the 80% insecure rate that I would have expected. If the networks goals are to provide free access to the internet and they don't have any security concerns I guess that's fine. It would be interesting to monitor the growth over time using this methodology.
