Thursday, September 11, 2003The Statewide Visual Arts annual competition and exhibition is open to all Utah artists over the age of 18. This year's competition will be crafts and photography. The jurors prefer to see the works in person, but if you are unable to deliver your pieces to the host gallery, up to three slides may be submitted and sent to the Utah Arts Council.
The Utah Arts Council will be accepting submissions on Friday, September 26 and Saturday, September 27, 2003 at the UVSC Woodbury Gallery from 10 am to 5 pm.

Utah will commemorate September 11, 2003 as Patriot Day in remembrance of the victims of the 9/11 tragedy. Under direction from President George W. Bush, Utah will lower the flag at the State Capitol to half-staff, and observe a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. local time.
