Your Friend, the Histogram: "One of the first revelations that new digital shooters have is that they can see their images as soon as they've been shot. Quite remarkable if you're used to shooting film and not really knowing what you've got until your slides come back from the lab. Last week Aldo Hoeben finally delivered on his promise to launch the first public version of SPi-V, a hardware accelerated panorama viewing engine.
Demos of some of the unique new features of SPi-V can be found in the SPi-V demo gallery, but of course SPi-V can be used to display silky smooth fullscreen panoramas as well.
For panoramic photographers interested in using SPi-V, developer's information is available at SPi-V dev.

Macworld UK - MacExpo: New design tool unleashed: "PrintDevizor lets users apply and reapply multiple effects using design images generated in any standard creative software, including layered Photoshop files. Each final finish can be viewed with full 360-degree rotation in a range of true lighting environments, bridging the gap between design concept and reality. It uses QuickTIme to deliver these virtual reality models."

Purpose |
VRlog provides news, developments and analysis of the virtual reality (VR) world from a nature photographer's perspective. Since I am not connected to or funded by any VR vendor, I intend to objectively appraise what's going on, and the direction VR is headed in. -- erik goetze
