Start and stop Quicktime Player with mouse clicks: "I found out that you can start and stop a movie in QuickTime Player by clicking on the movie picture. A single-click will stop a playing movie, while a double-click will play/continue.

Wide-Format Epson Stylus Photo R1800 touts FireWire: "Epson America Inc. on Monday introduced the US$549 Stylus Photo R1800, a new color inkjet printer aimed at digital photographers that can print 13-inch wide glossy and matte photos. Paired with Epson's archival paper, those prints can last a century or two, according to the manufacturer. What's more, the R1800 features both USB 2.0 and FireWire interfaces."

It's Lens Cleaning Time: "Having taken a look at sensor cleaning last week, it would be remiss of me not to also address the topic of lens cleaning. CCD and CMOS sensor cleaning is an important topic for digital shooters, but clean lenses are necessary equipment for all photographers, whether their preferred medium be digital or film...."

Nikon Capture v4.2 now supports D2X: "Nikon has posted an update to Nikon Capture with version 4.2, which adds support for the D2X. Other improvements include replacing the Digital DEE function with the D-Lighting function, which corrects exposure problems and additions to the menu options with a new find tool and straighten tool. Color Noise Reduction has also been improved."

Rob Galbraith DPI: Think Tank Photo develops backpack, belt system and waist pack for working photographers: "The new company, led by former Lowepro designer Doug Murdoch, and with design guidance from San Francisco Chronicle staff shooters Deanne Fitzmaurice and Kurt Rogers, will begin sale of their products in February 2005."

Kinoma brings QuickTime VR support to Palm: "Kinoma on Monday announced an update to its Palm OS-based Kinoma Player 3 EX software that brings cubic Virtual Reality (VR) support to the software. Kinoma Player 3 EX enables Palm PDA users to play back a number of different media formats, including movies encoded using MPEG-4 and H.263, AAC audio and JPEG photographs. Cubic VR support enables Kinoma Player 3 EX to also play back files encoded using QuickTime VR, Apple's software for producing cubic panoramas."
