Best of the Best Winter State Parks: "I compiled a list of the ' Best of the Best' Winter State Parks by contacting each of the 50 state park directors and asking them to select 2-3 'must see' parks in their respective states. From California's Anza-Borrego Desert State Park to New York's Allegany State Park, here is my list of 150 of the best state parks to visit in the winter, including information on each one."

Best of 2005 World Wide Panorama event! Simply submit the best VR panorama (or object movie) that you photographed during 2005.

• Photography must have been done between December 31, 2004 and December 28, 2005. If your ambition is to photograph on this New Year's Eve, a special arrangement can be made, but no guarantee that your pano will appear on the site when it debuts on January 1.

This event is open to all. The final site will be made public on January 1, 2006. We hope to have press releases in several languages available for distribution at that time.

The World Wide Panorama is sponsored by the Geography Computing Facility at the University of California Berkeley. This site is hosted by The Geo-Images Project. This is a non-commercial project, done simply to create enthusiasm for VR photography, and provide an outlet for our collective creativity.

The Windows update adds support for D200 RAW images. A new black and white option in Advanced RAW tool palette has been added to Color Modes. And finally, there have been improvements to the way tones are reproduced in highlight areas to prevent a loss of detail when the exposure compensation is set to less than 0. The Mac update addresses a problem that caused a type 3 error to occur and..."

Purpose
VRlog provides news, developments and analysis of the virtual reality (VR) world from a nature photographer's perspective. Since I am not connected to or funded by any VR vendor, I intend to objectively appraise what's going on, and the direction VR is headed in. -- erik goetze
