The nineteenth volume of The Year's Best Science Fiction, edited by Gardner Dozois, is now available. I bought my copy at a discount through the Science Fiction Book Club, but it is undoubtedly available elsewhere. If you want to get started with SF, start here. If you only have time for one volume, this would be it. In his lengthy introduction, Dozois mentions a superb collection of SF websites. Here are some highlights:

Fictionwise - SF, fantasy, mystery, and horror (as well as some other fiction and nonfiction) eBooks for downloading, including some classic material that hasn't been in print for a long time.

Web sites for some of the standard SF magazines: Asimov's SF Magazine , Interzone , Analog , Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction.

SCI FICTION - Yes, I know this is a section of the SCI-FI channel (should be the SF channel), but they've got Ellen Datlow - formerly of OMNI -  editing it. Be there.

Best SF - SF review site, less inclusive than Tangent Online, but very high quality.

Bad news at Unisci, one of the premier science news sites on the Web: the founder, Don Radler, died unexpectedly and the site will no longer be published. Major loss.
