Lefse
As I mentioned earlier, I got some Lefse for Christmas this year, direct from Norway! This morning after a quick run to the store for supporting ingredients I had some. If you are just looking at it then you may be confused and think it's a flat bread like a tortilla. But the texture and taste are much different - there is more to each in Lefse than a plain old tortilla. Apparently there are many ways to make Lefse, but a core ingredient is potatoes instantly giving it a different quality than tortillas.
I had my Lefse with butter, sugar and cinnamon. Because I am an African I did heat it up (we Africans heat *everything* up) a little bit before eating - I have no idea if this is a cardinal sin of Lefse eating but it allowed the butter to melt and mix with the sugar and cinnamon and Lefse a little more.
A few searches online yielded some more ways to eat Lefse - I'll have to try it later on with brown sugar, jam or cool whip (how bane, maybe that's only an American thing).
