Fistfight haiku
From the same source:
The fight’s details, unknown But for one bit of color – A nose, dripping blood.

This week in the Eye
9:24 a.m. Two other folks made their stand in an 18th Street breezeway, refusing to leave, only to fall to the persuasive reasoning of an officer.
12:08 p.m. A man was reported needing help in Todd Court. Police consulted with Pete, then located a beverage-enthralled colleague zonked on the roadside a ways away. He was deposited in the Pink Tank.
1:54 p.m. Another trespasser, this one in Maria Court, was motivated elsewhere.
2:26 p.m. Another drunk, this one blemishing Tavern Row, was taken away.
4:26 p.m. A fossil-fueled solipsist drove a mini-bike on the trails and bridges of Shay park.
6:58 p.m. Several persons were dissuaded from languishing indolently at the entrance to a Tavern Row taxidermy display.

Lakehurst University
I think that Jim Taranto, editor of the OpinionJournal's Best of the Web log, is on to something. He has been pursuing an issue for several days, with the aid of some e-mailing informants, and has noted some interesting points about a "Lakehurst University" which was recently reported to have given a honorary degree to a Saudi businessman. It seems to be nothing more than a handful of related online-only schools which are aimed at an Arab audience. No one knows who is "attending" Lakehurst classes, or what they are learning, but the kicker is yesterday's revelation, which didn't register with Taranto until today: The Whois database gives an address in Franklin Park, New Jersey for the domain name used by this supposed institution.
The insight: a fictitious grade school in Franklin Park is the return address used on the 2001 anthrax letters.
Taranto asks: "it's an eerie coincidence, is it not?"
Perhaps no coincidence at all.
