Only in America

Porn Shop Near Church Offers 'Clergy Discount'  STEWARTVILLE, Minn. -- A pornography shop's sign offering a "clergy discount" has drawn the wrath of its churchgoing neighbors. A double-sided sign stands outside the adult store in Stewartville, Minn., in view of people entering and leaving Midwest Baptist Church.

People driving toward the church, read: "And God said go out into the world and have great sex. God's gift to women. Amen and amen."

People leaving see: "No need to mail order. Gay videos in stock. Clergy discount. Have good sex. Hallelujah!"

I think it's funny.  Predictably, the pastor does not:

"I just hope I'm not too close when the lightning strikes."

Who knew there were Baptists in rural Minnesota?

Judges and the abortion question

SCOTUSblog begins today, pointing to an AP report:

The head of NARAL predicts a Senate filibuster if any nominee to the Supreme Court does not "clearly support" Roe v. Wade.

Has NARAL gone so far that it no longer has moorings in reality?  We have a conservative President, you idiots.  He is most assuredly not going to nominate someone who announces that he "clearly supports" Roe.

No one with any political sense will ever do anything "clear" when it comes to abortion at any rate.  The battles in this war have been taking place on the periphery for years, and often under the cover of darkness, as the other links in the same paragraph of the same SCOTUS entry detail.  When the question is put directly to a candidate, he or she will invariably do a dance that would put Michelle Jacobi to shame.

Electronic discovery

Using an interesting pair of contrasting metaphors, Robert Eisenberg provides litigators with a series of recommended strategies on preserving and seeking discovery of evidence in electronic format.  He offers two different approaches -- the aggressive ("the gunslinger") and the more cautious ("the homesteader"). (at LLRX)

Jason Hoppin of The Recorder points out that more litigators are bypassing the paper product and asking for direct discovery of the electronic files on their opponents' systems.  (at Law.com - Thanks to Ernie for the first pointer to this one.)
