There has been an amazing acceleration in the number of weblog tools that are available online. The current list is as follows. For my own use, I have created a framed web page on a local drive so that each can be browsed in order.
The last item, the newest, is an interesting alternative to an RSS newsreader. One of my current complaints is that none of the RSS aggregators give me the feeds in the format that I want. The one I currently use is AmphetaDesk, but its one major annoyance is that it feeds the entire text of every entry in its list. I would far prefer to have it feed just headlines, as Blawgistan and now Daily Whirl do.
Also try the DW's older brother -- The Daily Rotation, for links to tech sources.
Update: Thanks to Morbus Iff of Disobey.com, who has kindly advised that the desired behavior can be set in AmphetaDesk by adding a # before the line that reads
to_browser(qq{ $item->{description} }) if $item->{description};
in the default template.
(Wonder if Morbus was truly the name given him by Mama Iff?)
