Work Update

Today is a day where I want to write stuff that should not be posted for the world to see.  I fully support the creation of a secured blog server where we don't have to worry as much about the public nature of this medium.

What I am working on now:  Content Management/Portal and Authentication Infrastructure mostly.  I really need to get going on some other products, like payment portal, but there is just not enough time.  I am having a great time, but there are ways things could be better.  Today we are giving an implementation checkpoint presentation to Phil on Portal/CM.  I think the increased visibility will be good for the project.  Also new on the project is Sonny Olsen, who will be a great asset.  The guy knows his stuff and is a tenacious commitment extractor.

Geek Squad

This is a cool story and a cool concept.  Talk about snow crash with a smile (the attitude is there, at least).

"There are major corporations that no longer have IT departments and simply rely on the Geek Squad."

Now this is something cool! And the model can easily be adapted to any town, anywhere. I'm an informal 'helpdesk' to about 15 people myself, and I'm only a wanna be geek. Definitely going to look into this some more. [Adam Curry: Adam Curry's Weblog]
