I downloaded the latest stable release of MySQL 3.23.53.  Upgrading my W2K box from 3.23.49 was a snap.  Stop the background service.  Unzip the download archive.  Run the setup program.  Install the latest code in the same directory.  Start the service and you are done.  One of the cleanest upgrades around!

However, I did notice that PHP 4.3.0-dev is using the 3.23.49 MySQL client API.
