A Foodie By Nature
Favorite Recipes, Little Known Food Facts, New Food Observations, The Latest Health News!

Since I've been collecting recipes for many years, WHY NOT share these special concoctions? Some are from friends, some from magazines or favorite cookbooks. All are yummy and most are low fat. I'm really getting interested in more low fat recipes as I get older. Seems that little bit of extra weight become a little harder to get off! I also collect food and nutrition tidbits from other sources and I will be posting those as well. Enjoy!

Golllly, time sure flies! Looks like I haven't added anything here since 2/12! Been busy getting http://www.island-scents.com together, not to mention making stuff.

Speaking of food, or was I? I have stuffed peppers in the oven right now. Super easy to make: cut some green peppers in half and clean out the seeds. Mix up 1 pound ground turkey (or beef, if you must!), one beaten egg, 1/2 medium onion, chopped, 1/3 cup or so of uncooked minute rice, some salt and pepper and a couple glops of ketchup to moisten it. Mix it up real good and scoop into cleaned out green pepper halves. Actually, red bell peppers are even tastier, IF the price isn't exhorbitant! Put in a baking pan that has a tight fitting top and pour either one can of tomato sauce on top OR a can of tomato soup. Bake at 325 for 1 1/2 hours. This is also really good in the crockpot.
