What Ever Happened to the Cliffhanger Comic Cover? I remember it well.  When I was a young comic book reader, comic books often had covers that seemed to imply something impossible was going to happen.  I remember one particularly well.  Two young boys were looking at a tattered and faded poster of Superman.  One boy says to the other..."Whatever happened to him?"  This was the sort of cover that would sell a comic book all by itself just because you had to find out what the story was.  However, somewhere between then and now the comic book companies seem to have dropped the notion of the teaser cover.  This is not to imply that the covers of today aren't great artwork or that they're somehow of inferior quality.  I just miss the old covers that grabbed your attention.  12:18:37 PM    comment []
