Faster Project Building: Here's an article about a new GCC front-end that allows you to build your project across several slave machines.  Way cool!  Anything that speeds up builds makes projects get done faster (though it might minimize trips to the bathrom and coffee runs too). Sharing Applications on OS X: Mac OS X was designed from the ground up as a multi-user system. If you are the only person using a given Mac, you might never notice the multi-user benefits but if you do share a Mac with several people, Jaguar gives you a great degree of control over how a Mac is used. You create a user account using the Accounts preference panel in System Preferences... For non-admin users, notice the push button labeled "Capabilities" which lets you determine if that user should have a simplified Finder user interface, what applications they can open and the level of access to use several system features including burning media, removing stuff from the Dock and access to System Preferences. If you administer a network of Macs, be sure to check out Mac OS X Server and the Workgroup Manager which gives you even more control over clients on a per user, per group or per computer basis - all driven from a powerful server-based directory.
