I'll be at the SOA on Wall Street event tomorrow in New York City. It'll be interesting to hear Miko Matsumura, formerly Infravio and now with webMethods, talk in a panel on "Accelerating Mergers & Acquisitions with SOA". Mike had very useful things to say on his blog recently about the fact that seperate implementations of similar functionality are not always a bad thing, and can in fact come about by design.

This month's National Geographic magazine includes a statistic that says "More people are bitten each year by New Yorkers than by sharks". Unfortunately this doesn't seem to be online, but if you're looking for it in the print magazine, it's in the story about sharks in the Bahamas. So I'll be careful down in New York!
