Try-It! Illinois 2002:

"Jesse White, Secretary of State and State Librarian, and the Illinois State Library are pleased to work with ILLINET member libraries and electronic resource vendors to provide Try-It! Illinois 2002, the Third Annual Statewide Electronic Resource Trial. From October 1 through November 30, Illinois library staffs and library users have the opportunity to survey and evaluate numerous electronic resources at no charge.

Try-It! Illinois 2002 is available for use by library staffs and library users unless otherwise indicated. The Web site will be activated October 1, 2002. To access Try-It! Illinois 2002", go to the ISL website and click on the Try-It! Illinois icon in the upper right corner or go to Find-It! Illinois and click on the Try-It! Illinois icon.

Information Wars:

The Atlantic Monthly has an article entitled "Information Wars" in its September 2002 issue.  The article reflects on how previously public information in libraries, web sites, as well as governmental meetings is no longer available to the American public.

What's Working for Girls in Illinois:

The American Association of University Women's Illinois Chapter has an online newsletter, called "What's Working for Girls in Illinois."   The newsletter provides information on programs and resources to improve the quality of education in Illinois. available at
