Migrating from NT4 Server to gentoo

I finally started to migrate my NT 4 Server box to Gentoo. I backed up all the data on my Raid 5 array before starting the install process.
First problem: the Slackware 9.0 boot disk I am using to boot the machine does not recognise my Corega PCI-T32 1000Base-T. I switched the card for an Intel Pro/1000T: same scenario. I decided to put a more common card for the installation, a Corega PCI-TXS. It worked.
Now I am emerging the system files. It should be done by tomorrow morning.
