This was to be expected: sad but expected. The Chinese government proved once again its thirst for power without compromise. They don't understand that a democratically governed Hong Kong could yield better result than those delivered by clueless Tung.
On the long run the Communist Party of China will collapse. The writings are on the wall: As corruption persist and wealth spread, people will tolerate less and less bad leadership. We just need to wait for their own Gorbatchev: Ii may take a while though.
