[Item Permalink] Trying to trick with a PayPal e-mail -- Comment()
I'm catching up with my e-mail. In my primary e-mail account there were 251 messages, of which 140 were spam automatically recognized by Apple Mail, and about 1/3 of the rest were spam unclassified as spam.

To make my day, I received the following e-mail. I wonder how many fell for it.

Great writing about writing: "I picked up Steven King's book 'On Writing' for a few dollars recently. Although I have been reading his novels almost from the first (much to the horror of my year 8 English teacher), I haven't liked some of the recent ones, and even have some unread ones on my bookshelf. But this one is fabulous. Elegantly written, witty and insightful" [DonnaM]

Weblogs are not Weblogs: 'With the word blog now we are discounting a whole set of wonderful applications that are not just publishing your most immediate mind thoughts but which can provide much greater benefits, value and reach than the "personal diary" format can ever do".' [Item Permalink] Went away for a week -- Comment()
I was disconnected from the net for eight days, traveling in Finland. I drove our car for 1800 kilometers during this time, which is quite a lot for me. We rented a nice summer cottage in the northern part of Finland, and used the cottage as the base for our excursions.

During this week at the cottage our youngest daughter learned to stand without support, and took her first steps. Thus this was a memorable week. And the weather was really warm (for Finland) for the whole time.
