Have a nice time! I'll spend a lot of time with my family, and perhaps even read a few books.

[Item Permalink] Different experiences of PowerBook -- Comment()
Ssp commented my praise of the PowerBook: "Hmmm, I really like my TiBook, but I'm having lots of troubles with it. I'm not sure it's actually well engineered. To date I have a slight noise in the monitor (which wasn't fixed in AppleCare), a casing broken at the headphone socket, another break starting to be visible close to it, a broken power adaptor, a semi-broken DVD drive, a key falling off, a broken screen hinge (!) and of course all the 'usual' treats like the paint coming off where you put your hands, the Powerbook G4 text being transferred to the other side of the case, the keyboard not seeming to sit perfectly, prints on the screen... I agree that even my 400MHz version can stomach the work it has to do. But I'm really fearing a proper physical breakdown."

A completely different view! Perhaps I have been lucky. Of course there are scratches on my PowerBook, but mechanically it works perfectly. I don't mind the scratches - it makes the PowerBook look like it has been used. It has served both as a desktop - plugged in to a big monitor - and a laptop on the go.
