The new Groovy JSR is up on the JCP website!
This JSR will standardize the Groovy language with a full specification
and TCK - with the open source project being the reference
implementation.
We'll be following the new JCP 2.6 process which should be interesting
- all discussions will remain in the open, anyone will be able to get
involved in both the JSR and open source project, all submissions will
be licenced under a liberal BSD style licence and we hope to run the
JSR in an agile way, releasing both the specification and RI often.
So far we've support from Apache, BEA and ThoughtWorks along with
Richard Monson-Haefel, Geir Magnusson Jr., Bob McWhirter, Bruce Eckel,
Pragmatic Dave Thomas, Ted Leung, Jon Tirsen as well as hardcore Groovy
hackers Chris Poirier and Guillaume LaForge.
This sounds like being great fun - here's hoping it gets approved :)
