Had a very interesting day today. Had a great lunch with various folks like Dion, Jon and Aslak and talked about a great many things.
Firstly John posted a cool way to extract content from Confluence for scripting goodness. Neat!
There's also been some interesting discussion
of a Groovy & Ant based build system (current code name Gravy :)
which sounds very interesting; mixing and matching Ant goodness with a
real scripting language but without all those pesky pointy brackets and CDATA malarkey.
Also NanoWeb
is looking really interesting; a kinda lightweight WebWork style system
using PicoContainer and (say) Groovy being totally dynamic in a Zope
sense and without reams of XML config files.
While we're on the subject of XML and down with angle brackets, Paul gave me a great T-Shirt today - many thanks. The front has a cute little Groovy logo and the back...
For those who are increasingly forming an aversion to all those angle
brackets in our lives as J2EE developers - myself included - I hereby
humbly apologise for Jelly :). It seamed such a idea at the time, honestly! :)
